Saturday Video: "Is there an edge to the universe?"

by Salman Hameed

This is an episode from Morgan Freeman's Through the Wormhole. This episode is perfect for Freeman since he has often played God on the big screen. I have not seen any of the other episodes in the series. From the titles, it is clear that it is looking at scientific issues at the edge of our current understanding. Therefore, this is a good demonstration of how scientists think about speculative ideas and the kind of tests that may be able to settle some of these debates. We still don't know if the universe if finite or infinite - let alone the dodecahedron (shape of a soccer ball) that the program discusses at one point. So keep an eye on the presence of "If this is correct" before a number of sentences in the show. Enjoy Is there an Edge to the Universe? (this is about 43 minutes long):
