I had recently posted a video of
interpreting six-day creationism based on modern science. Last week's
New Yorker now has a highly entertaining comic strip by
R. Crumb - graphically illustrating the first three chapters of the Book of Genesis. It is from his book,
The Book of Genesis Illustrated. As it says on the cover to the right, "The first book of the Bible graphically depicted! NOTHING LEFT OUT!". And of course, it is a bit weird and disturbing and it comes with a warning: "Adult supervision recommended for minors". It is fun to see Crumb's visuals on the Book of Genesis. Here is one panel from the
New Yorker for an example - courtesy of
The Beat:
This is not directly related, but as a bonus - here is
Dag Soderberg on the
Colbert Report talking about his
Bible in a glossy magazine format - filled with pictures of celebrities:
This may sound irrelevant but I wanted you to see this (I don't have your contact details either).

Thanks Atif. It is indeed related to origins of life questions.

R. Crumb??....
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to imagine how he'd illustrate Leviticus. The mind reels....
The Brick Testament seems pretty good on Leviticus and Deuteronomy.
